About Wattlyst

Wattlyst is a free set of electricity calculators for homes, solar systems and electricity bills. Every tool shows the formula, the default values and the sources behind its result, so you can check the number instead of trusting it blindly.

Why we built Wattlyst

Questions like "how long will my UPS battery last", "what size generator do I need" or "why is my bill so high" usually get vague answers online. Wattlyst answers them with the same formulas an electrical engineer would use, shown step by step with your own numbers. Pakistan is our first market, so the tools use Pakistani voltages, tariffs, DISCO names and sun hours by default, with options for other countries where the question is global.

Who is behind it

  • Ali Ahmad, Founder and Author (LinkedIn)

The founder writes and maintains the calculators and guides. Formulas and defaults are documented on our methodology page.

Technical review

Technical review by a PEC-registered electrical engineer is in progress. Until it is complete, no page claims an engineer sign-off.

How we keep results honest

  • All maths lives in one tested calculation engine. Page text, worked examples, tables and FAQ answers are generated from it, so one page cannot contradict another.
  • Values that change, such as tariffs, prices and sun hours, are stored with their source and the date we last checked them.
  • Results are estimates for planning. They are not an official bill, a quotation or an engineering sign-off. Read our disclaimer.
  • How pages are written, reviewed and corrected is described in our editorial policy.
